Adult, Child & Infant CPR with AED & First Aid
This intensive three-hour course covers adult/child CPR and AED, adult/child/infant choking, and infant CPR. Following the course, you will be comfortable assessing a victim, checking for breathing, performing rescue breaths and chest compressions, and activating the emergency response system. You will also learn how to help someone who is choking, respond in other emergency situations, and use an AED. An American Heart Association course completion card good for two years will be emailed to participants following the course. **Optional: bring a yoga mat or towel for comfort during the hands on portion.**Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certification e-card within 2 weeks of your class date. To claim your card, you can either: Login to your American Heart Association account at heart.org/cpr/mycards. Check your email! It will be emailed to you directly from the American Heart Association (eCards@heart.org) with the subject line "Claim your AHA eCard". Art Sampler for Kids - Ages 8-14

This class explores essential elements and principles of art—such as perspective, proportion, texture, color theory, shapes, forms, and lines—and how they contribute to artistic creation. Through engaging projects, students will complete and take home a unique artwork at the end of each class. Spend your early release afternoon getting creative! Kids will rotate through fun, hands-on art stations designed to spark imagination and keep creativity flowing. Children can choose to complete one quick project or dive deeper into multiple crafts. They’ll experiment with paint, yarn, felt, beads, and other colorful materials while creating unique, take-home masterpieces. It’s the perfect mix of creativity, choice, and hands-on fun! Babysitting 101 - Ages 11-15
Life Skills
Perfect for ages 11–15, this hands-on class teaches you how to confidently care for infants and children when parents are not present. You’ll discover how to plan fun, age-appropriate activities, manage challenging behaviors, handle emergencies, provide basic first aid, and even kickstart your own babysitting business. Beginner Knitting for Kids - Ages 5-9 (& Accompanying Adults)

Learn the basics of knitting in this fun and welcoming class designed just for beginners! Students will get hands-on experience with essential techniques, including casting on and mastering the basic knit stitch. Once they’ve built confidence with the fundamentals, they'll choose a simple, rewarding project—either a cozy scarf or a mini blanket for a favorite stuffed animal. No experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity! Class $120 | Material fee $10 The instructor will provide the class materials. This is a children’s program. Parents are not required to stay. However, accompanying adults are welcome and encouraged to participate but must register as a student in order to take part. Cartooning: Building Your Own Comic Books - Ages 7-12

In this class, we’ll pick up where we left off from the Developing Your Drawing program and start turning our awesome ideas into short comic books. Everyone will run their stories by the rest of their classmates, come up with the characters and dialogue, sketch, and then finish their pages with ink. Please contact the Prescott office if you would like to attend but haven't completed the Developing Your Drawing program. Students are required to bring the following materials: 1. 11x17 comic book paper or 11x17 copy paper 2. Pencils 3. Ruler 4. Various inking tools like Copic Markers, and/or black India ink, and a brush 5. Coloring materials like markers **Parent/Guardian is NOT required to stay for this program.**

Creative Movement - Ages 2.5-6
Dance, Music & Theatre
Calling all youngsters who like to wiggle! This creative movement class empowers little ones to explore their creative voices through movement games, obstacle courses, storytelling, rhythm/music, and more. This class is usually most enjoyed by children ages 3-5, though children 2.5-3 with a strong sense of independence and children 5.5-6 with a strong sense of whimsy are welcome. Developing Your Drawing - Ages 7-12
Arts & Crafts
Students will learn how to create their own unique characters, explore facial expressions, and draw fun, dynamic poses. Through easy-to-follow lessons, they’ll learn about shape languages and how they affect the audience, how authors create their characters, and ultimately create their own fun and unique characters. They'll also learn the fundamentals of color and perspective. Whether it’s drawing wacky animals or silly superheroes, this class encourages creativity and provides kids with the tools to express their ideas through cartooning. No experience needed—just a love for drawing and having fun! Students are required to bring pencils or pens, and paper to draw on. Optional: Students who want to use an Ipad, tablet or laptop need to download Procreate or Clip Studio Paint and have an Apple Pencil or a similar stylus.

Fast Skills Sports: March Madness Basketball - Ages 7-11

At the Fast Skills Sports program, the coaches facilitate the essential elements of success in many different sports and activities. The instruction emphasizes both skill-specific and team play. The program will focus on the fundamentals, skills, and rules of Basketball. Sessions will include a combination of skill focus and game-play periods. Participants will learn more than just sports in the program. They are taught about teamwork, resiliency, self-discipline, and the importance of making good decisions. Play Safe, Play Fair, and Have Fun! **Parent/Guardian is NOT required to stay for this class.**

Foam Dart Blaster Squad (Winter) - Ages 6-10

Come and join this fun and exciting Foam Dart Blaster event! Duck, dodge, and run to tag your friends at a distance while trying to achieve in-game objectives—then switch up the game and do it again! Practice integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork during fun, fast games of foam dart blaster tag. Students can bring their lunch and drinks to Prescott at 12:30 PM before the class or arrive at the class at 1:00 PM. Foam Darts will be located in the Gym if weather is not agreeable. In case of cold or inclement weather, activities will be held indoors in the gym. Class $45 | Material fee $6 Students are welcome to bring their Nerf-style blasters that use full-length foam darts to the event —we'll check them all for safety! Homework Help - Grades 5-8
Education
The Prescott Community Center offers a safe, supportive homework help program for students in grades 5–8 on Mondays from 4:00–5:00 PM and Wednesdays from 5:00–6:00 PM. Local high school honor students, guided by a supervisor, provide individualized support in math, writing, reading, organization, time management, and study skills. Registration is required to ensure a homework assistant is available, and families will indicate the specific areas where their child needs support when signing up. The event’s success relies on your participation. We will need many volunteers who know math, reading, and essay writing, and can provide study guidance. Kids for Community + Parents Night Out - Ages 6-10
Community
Kids will enjoy some fun games and activities and get to work on a service craft project to help others, all while parents take a moment to themselves. The service projects may include making birthday cards for Make-a-Wish kids with a critical illness, no-sew blankets, or greeting cards for Golden Age neighbors. Manga for Teens - Ages 12-17

This five-week class is perfect for anyone interested in learning how to create semi-realistic and cartoon-style Manga characters. Students will explore how to draw and shape character anatomy and face expressions, focusing on proportions, poses, and adding intricate details like accessories. The class also incorporates the use of various materials such as watercolor, markers, and colored pencils, while introducing creative topics like fashion design. Projects are designed to be fun and engaging, offering both basic and advanced techniques in anatomy drawing. This program is intended to help students learn focus, physical fitness, and coordination, and to protect themselves. In addition, students will learn self-control through balancing mind, body, and spirit through the martial arts. Students will learn techniques from Karate, Kung Fu, and Jiu-Jitsu, and how these styles blend.

Me, Myself and Art: Exploring Identity Through Mask Making - Grades 6-8
Arts & Crafts
In this creative and reflective art class, students in grades 6–8 will explore identity and self-expression through mask making. Using a variety of materials and techniques, young artists will design masks that represent both how they present themselves to the world and how they see themselves on the inside. This class provides a supportive space for middle schoolers to express their individuality, build artistic skills, and thoughtfully explore who they are through art. All materials are provided. We offer confidential Card to Culture scholarships to help make our programs accessible to everyone. For details, please call our office—we’re happy to assist you! Office: 978-877-6933 Andrea Wilson will serve as the Arts Elevate: Artist-in-Residence for Youth Wellness in Greater Lowell. This program is supported by the Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) in partnership with the Barr Foundation. Andrea Wilson will be part of The Umbrella’s 2026-2027 Artist-in-Residence cohort. The Greater Lowell Community Foundation (GLCF) is partnering with four youth-serving nonprofit organizations to pilot an artist-in-residence non-clinical program that is designed to improve youth wellness through creative engagement. The program is being developed with lead funding from the Barr Foundation through itsCreative Commonwealth Initiative. Disclaimer: Participants of this program may be asked to contribute responses to evaluation questions, participate in interviews about their experiences, and may be included in photo and video documentation. Snapology: (Winter/Spring) STEM, Robotics, & More! - Ages 5-9

Build, Create, and Explore on Early Release Days at Prescott! Keep the learning and fun going after school with hands-on programs designed to spark creativity and curiosity. Kids will dive into exciting activities like LEGO® builds, Movie Making, Drones, STEM/STEAM projects, and Robotics. Each session includes two engaging projects with a short break in between to recharge and connect with friends. Students can bring their lunch and drinks to Prescott at 12:30 PM before the class or arrive at the class at 1:00 PM. The class requires a minimum of 6 students two days (48 hours) before the class date. Please register early so you don't miss the fun! Friday, February 6th: Animation Studio Create amazing movies with stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks. Children will work in teams to produce their very own movie, complete with dialogue and sound effects. Movies are uploaded to a secure site for family and friends to see how cool they are! Friday, March 20th: Ninjas Kids will learn about the history, culture, skills, and tactics of ninja warriors. Kids will learn about shinobi through a variety of building activities, games, and projects! From translating their name to Japanese to learning about the importance of strength, concentration, and agility, students are bound to have a blast. Friday, April 3rd: Real World Robotics In Snapology's Real World Robotics class using LEGO® Spike Prime, participants will create robotic models inspired by real life robotic technologies. In doing so, they will learn about gear ratio, sensors, simple machines, and programming while having a blast exploring the world of robotic technologies as they build, learn, and play. **Parent/Guardian is NOT required to stay. Social Play Group for Young Kids with Special Needs - Ages 2-3
Sensory Play
This social play group is designed for young children ages 2-3 with a range of developmental differences and support needs. The group provides a calm, welcoming environment where children can explore, play, and connect at their own pace. Each session includes time for free play with developmentally appropriate toys, a simple, sensory-friendly art activity, and a short circle time focused on songs, movement, or shared attention. Activities are flexible and responsive to each child’s interests, energy level, and regulation needs. The group is guided by a neuro-affirming approach that respects individual differences and emphasizes participation, connection, and joy rather than performance or compliance. Caregivers are encouraged to observe, join in as needed, and support their child in ways that feel comfortable and natural. This group is ideal for families looking for a gentle, supportive introduction to social experiences in a small group setting. **Parent/Guardian is required to stay for this program.**

Toddler & Me Movement - Ages 1-2.5

Explore the world of movement and music with your little one! Caregiver and child bond through shared movement games, sing-alongs, a story time break, and creative play throughout. This class is recommended for children ages 1-2.5 who are curious about movement and music but benefit from exploring new spaces and games with their caregiver. Children on the older end of the age range who are fairly independent would likely prefer Creative Movement with Tony instead (same day, same time!). Register under the Child's Name. Lilah Tully, a varsity volleyball player at Groton-Dunstable High School, is leading a youth volleyball clinic at the Prescott Community Center. Participants will learn volleyball fundamentals and enjoy playing games with their peers. **All proceeds benefit the Prescott Community Center.**
