Kids will enjoy some fun games and activities and get to work on a service craft project to help others, all while parents take a moment to themselves. The service projects may include making birthday cards for Make-a-Wish kids with a critical illness, no-sew blankets, or greeting cards for Golden Age neighbors. Students will learn how to create their own unique characters, explore facial expressions, and draw fun, dynamic poses. Through easy-to-follow lessons, they’ll learn about shape languages and how they affect the audience, how authors create their characters, and ultimately create their own fun and unique characters. They'll also learn the fundamentals of color and perspective. Whether it’s drawing wacky animals or silly superheroes, this class encourages creativity and provides kids with the tools to express their ideas through cartooning. No experience needed—just a love for drawing and having fun! Students are required to bring pencils or pens, and paper to draw on. Optional: Students who want to use an Ipad, tablet or laptop need to download Procreate or Clip Studio Paint and have an Apple Pencil or a similar stylus.
