Have a kid who loves to move? Does your child want to explore different styles of games and sports without committing to a full season? Just want your little one to be active in a safe and well-coached environment? At the Kids Multi-Sport Program, we facilitate the essential elements of success in many different sports and activities. The instruction emphasizes both skill-specific and team play. The program will focus on fundamentals, skills, and rules of games. Sessions will include a combination of skill focus and game-play periods. Participants will learn more than just sports in the program. They are taught about teamwork, resiliency, self-discipline, and the importance of making good decisions. Patrick Gendron, a certified Archery instructor, will teach the proper archery range procedures, safety, and how to shoot a bow and arrow through a step-by-step approach in a fun and safe environment. In this workshop kids will get an introduction to embroidery while creating their own personalized piece of art. We will learn some of the basic hand stitch embroidery using an embroidery hoop. Kids can choose among some premade embroidery designs and thread colors but will include their name in their own handwriting. Workshop $30 | Material free $5

Cool off with us this summer in the sweetest way possible! Kids will have a blast making their own vanilla, chocolate, and black raspberry ice cream using the famous cream from Johnson’s Restaurant & Dairy Bar. Then it’s time to get creative with custom milkshakes and delicious ice cream sandwiches! But the fun doesn’t stop there—we’ll sing, listen to stories, play games, and enjoy every moment together. It’s the perfect recipe for summer fun! Laura Santiano has been making ice cream at her father's restaurant, Johnson's Restaurant and Dairy Bar, Groton, MA, since she was 14 years old. She will share the "secrets" of how Johnson's makes their yummy ice cream, fun historical facts, and sample their ice cream! Laura will also demonstrate how to make the cream from scratch so you can do it from home. Class $25 | Material fee $10 Please bring your favorite reusable ice cream bowl/dish and utensil to enjoy this amazing ice cream while supporting the environment. We will help to clean afterward. Lastly, don't forget to a food container with lid to bring home any extras.

In this mixed media art class, we will create a felt pocket pet. We will begin with the concept of our pet, create our own pattern, and then make it out of felt, learning hand sewing and embroidery techniques. We will also make a little home for our pet by decorating a tin box with paper, fabric or other decorative details. Children will have so much fun bringing their pocket pet visions to life! Do you want to learn and play chess with other beginner chess enthusiasts? This class is for those who already know the very basics or know how to move the pieces and checkmate but want to get better. The players will dedicate their time to practicing and learning. This wouldn't be considered an Intermediate Beginner Class, an extension of our Beginner Next Step Class. The instructor will teach more rules, simple tactics, and strategies through game playing. The student will also learn to think ahead 2-move checkmates. We will keep the scores for all 6 sessions. The highest scorer will get a special award at the end of the program. Snacks and drinks will be provided. This class is not for advanced students. ** Children under 10 must be accompanied by an adult!**

Young performers will explore the excitement of being on stage through playful activities like dress-up, puppetry, singing, storytelling, and hands-on arts and crafts. With colorful props and costumes, they'll bring their imaginations to life, building confidence and making new friends along the way. The week culminates in a joyful performance where families can see the magic unfold on stage. No experience needed—just bring your imagination!

All summer long build away with friends on Wednesdays and Thursdays at Prescott! From fun, themed programs using LEGO® bricks to STEM/STEAM programs, Robotics, Movie-Making, and Drones, your children will be engaged from the minute they walk in the door. Each session will include two project activities with a 20-minute break in between. Please bring a water bottle and a nut-free snack! While working with a partner to solve various challenges, your child will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. If so, this workshop is the perfect space for your young architect or city planner to sharpen their design and building skills! Throughout the program, kids will be challenged to design and build complicated objects, work cooperatively with others to secure their place on a team, and compete to be the fastest and most precise competitors in the class. Thursday, Aug 7, 9:00 AM-12:00 PM - Robot Sports Challenge In Snapology's Robot Sports Challenge program, kids will build and program robots to compete in sports-themed challenges! Your child will expand their engineering skills by designing and experimenting with robotic attachments and refine their computer programming abilities by creating program codes that make their bots run races, play hockey, and so much more. Kids will work in groups and use the LEGO® SPIKETM Prime technology to complete these exciting challenges. By giving our students challenges through games and friendly competition, they don't realize how quickly they are learning core programming skills for a future in STEM. This program gives your child the tools they need to understand mechanical movement through the foundations of simple machines, physics, and engineering design. They will see moving parts up-close as they follow instructions to build various machines, then use the models to develop new design ideas, test out physics concepts, and even play games with their partners and classmates. This playful hour of dance weaves together movement games, ballet and contemporary dance, and storytelling. Decent Dance believes that children have a natural understanding of physical expression: after all, that is their primary mode of communication in those early years! Tony's Creative Movement class taps into the imaginative spirit and innate desire to wiggle for children ages 3-7. By integrating both open-ended prompts and what we like to call "soft technique", this class offers just enough structure and a whole lot of autonomous empowerment for young dancers. Join local cartoonist Bob Clark to learn how to use Procreate to illustrate original characters and bring characters to life with expressions and actions! Students will be immersed and inspired in their imaginations and creativities. The student must bring an hand-held computer like iPad with a downloaded Procreate app and an Apple (or similar) pencil. **Parents/Guardians are NOT required to stay for the class.**

Do you want to play with writing? Do you like to draw with words and draw from words? Writing can be fun if you let lose the creative being inside of you. What are your true thoughts? What places does your imagination go to when you gaze out the window? Let’s find out together. For one week this summer we will practice and play with words: writing from prompts, sketching characters in stories and feelings, exploring images and textures in poetry, learning how to get to the point in an opinion piece, maybe create a short graphic short story if that works for you. Come in comfortable clothes, bring a water bottle and a snack, bring a journal without lines, and a pen and markers. Led by Niki Rockwell (Long term ELA teacher of students grades from 8 – 12)
