Cyanotype Printing
Explore cyanotype printing on paper or fabric to create botanical or photo-style prints by applying a light-sensitive iron solution, then exposing it to sunlight to produce a cyan-blue print. Cyanotype is a photographic printing process invented by Sir John Herschel in 1842. It was first used to make architecture blueprints. This class will cover a little history and the basic process for creating your own prints using nontoxic chemicals, the power of the sun, and a dash of creativity!Workshop $40 | Material fee $20

2D Felting for Kids: Beach Crab - Ages 8-14

In this hands-on workshop, children will delve into the vibrant world of needle felting by “painting with wool.” Using bright wool fibers and specialized felting needles, students will discover how to layer and blend colors to craft a wavy shoreline with a crawling crab. Alcohol Ink Painting: Beginners - Ages 12-18

In this workshop, Dana Haigh will introduce the Alcohol Inks medium to create paintings of free flow of expressions. Alcohol inks are fast-drying and highly pigmented. They flow freely over any non-porous surface and have a mind on their own, allowing for a liberating approach to art and unexpected, spontaneous results. If you are open to just having fun and “going with the flow”, this is the medium for you to explore. Babysitting 101: Summer - Ages 11-15

Perfect for ages 11–15, this hands-on class teaches you how to confidently care for infants and children when parents are not present. Beginner Woodworking for Teens - Ages 12-18

Give your teen the confidence of a "maker." This week long, introductory woodworking course is going to teach the basics of tools, construction materials, fasteners, and their different applications—all through hands-on construction. By the end of the week, they’ll have five handcrafted projects to show for their hard work, including a keepsake box, a garden planter, birdhouse, step stool, and a charcuterie board. Your finished masterpieces are yours to take home at the end of the week! Program: $225 Material fee: $100 Please bring a hammer, tape measure, nut-free snack, and full water bottle. Create Your Own Fairy Garden & Gnome Home - Ages 6-11

Creative Art Cafe: Create Edible-Inspired Masterpieces - Ages 6-9

In this creative art workshop, young artists will become "chefs" of imagination. Dungeons & Dragons Adventures! - Grades 5-12

Gather your party of heroes and prepare for a summer of fun and adventure! This summer enrichment course is centered on Dungeons & Dragons (D&D), the world’s most popular tabletop role-playing game and a member of the National Toy Hall of Fame. D&D is a collaborative storytelling game set in a fantasy world where players face challenging puzzles, mysteries, and dangerous monsters - all while creating an original, unfolding heroic tale! Players develop original characters who learn and grow from their choices, becoming heroes by overcoming challenges together. This program uses D&D as an educational tool to develop critical thinking, creative writing, teamwork, leadership, mathematical skills, and social-emotional learning in a structured, inclusive classroom environment. Please bring a nut-free snack and full water bottle. You are welcome to bring dice, pencil and paper, and any Dungeons & Dragons books you would like to bring. Fast Skills Sports: Archery II - Ages 8-14

Archery II is for students who have already taken the Fast Skills Sports Archery program. This class will give them next level challenges and instruction. Patrick Gendron, a certified Archery instructor, will teach the proper archery range procedures, safety, and how to shoot a bow and arrow through a step-by-step approach in a fun and safe environment. All equipment is provided. Fast Skills Sports: Multi-Sport Summer - Ages 7-11

Just want your child to be active in a safe and well-coached environment? At the Kids Multi-Sport Program, we facilitate the essential elements of success in many different sports and activities. The instruction emphasizes both skill-specific and team play. The program will focus on fundamentals, skills, and rules of games. Sessions will include a combination of skill focus and game-play periods. Participants will learn more than just sports in the program. They are taught about teamwork, resiliency, self-discipline, and the importance of making good decisions. Fiction Writing Workshop: No Plot? No Problem! - Ages 12-18

No plot? No problem! Take your story to the next level in this fun fiction writing workshop! Each day we’ll start with some warm-up writing exercises, then dive into one of the elements of fiction to see how character, conflict and setting work together to create a plot. Then we’ll brainstorm ways to escalate the tension to build a great story. Using a combination of lecture, group and individual exercises, this workshop will allow teens to explore the craft of fiction to develop their unique ideas in any fiction genre.

Foam Dart Blaster Squad: Summer - Ages 6-13

Come and join this fun and exciting Foam Dart Blaster event! Duck, dodge, and run to tag your friends at a distance while trying to achieve in-game objectives—then switch up the game and do it again! Practice integrity, sportsmanship, and teamwork during fun, fast games of foam dart blaster tag. In case of inclement weather, activities will be held indoors in the gym. Interactive AI Workshop: Creative AI Adventures - Ages 5–9

In this fun, hands-on program, children will explore age-appropriate AI tools for creating pictures, music, characters, and story ideas. Each day, students will complete two guided creative projects using their imagination and simple AI tools as a starting point. The focus is on creativity, play, and exploration. Children will use AI to spark ideas, then build on those ideas through art, storytelling, and music activities. Example activities may include: • Creating colorful AI-generated pictures and turning them into posters or story illustrations • Making simple AI-generated songs or soundtracks • Designing characters and writing short stories with AI help • Learning basic concepts about how AI works and how to use it responsibly The goal of this program is to help children see AI as a creative tool while strengthening imagination, curiosity, and critical thinking. Kidpreneurs: Build Your Own Lemonade Stand - Ages 6-9

Get ready to mix, create, and sell! In this hands-on summer program, kids become real “Kidpreneurs” as they build and run their very own lemonade stand from start to finish. They’ll dream up fun flavors, test their recipes, design signs, set prices, and work together to bring their business to life. Along the way, they’ll talk to real customers, gather feedback, and make decisions just like true entrepreneurs—then set up shop outside Prescott Community Center to sell their final product to the community. Friends, family, and neighbors are invited to stop by, support these young business owners, and enjoy a refreshing cup of lemonade! All proceeds will go toward supporting future community programs at Prescott. It’s a fun, creative, and confidence-building experience where kids learn teamwork, problem-solving, and the excitement of running their own business. What They’ll Do Each Day: Day 1: Dream it up! Create a business plan, choose flavors/plan menu, set prices, and design eye-catching signs for marketing. Day 2: Test & create! Develop and test the products and create the final version for selling. Day 3: Launch day! Set up the stand, sell to real customers, review the results, and celebrate what they built together.

Kids Stitch Lab: Sew Your First Skirt - Age 9+

This beginner-friendly sewing workshop teaches kids how to sew a simple, wearable skirt using their own sewing machines. Over two sessions, students will practice basic garment sewing skills such as measuring, pinning, sewing straight seams, creating a waistband, and finishing their project. Along the way, young makers will build confidence using their sewing machines while designing a skirt they can proudly wear. If time allows, students may also sew a small bonus project to practice their new skills. Kids should come already knowing how to use their machine. Students are required to bring materials including a sewing machine. A materials list is provided in the confirmation email.

Kids Summer: Make Your Own Ice Cream & Sundaes - Ages 5-9

Cool off with us this summer in the sweetest way possible! Kids will love using electric ice cream makers to churn fresh vanilla, chocolate, and black raspberry flavors using premium cream from the local favorite, Johnson’s Restaurant & Dairy Bar. Once the churning is done, the fun continues at our DIY Sundae Bar, where everyone can build their own masterpiece with a variety of delicious toppings! Laura Santiano has been making ice cream at her father's restaurant, Johnson's Restaurant and Dairy Bar, Groton, MA, since she was 14 years old. She will share the "secrets" of how Johnson's makes their yummy ice cream, fun historical facts, and sample their ice cream! Laura will also demonstrate how to make the cream from scratch so you can do it from home. Please bring a reusable ice cream bowl/dish and utensil to enjoy this amazing ice cream while supporting the environment. We will help clean up afterward. Lastly, don't forget a food container with lid to bring home any extras.

Lights, Camera, Action! Filmmaking Workshop - Ages 10-15

Lights, Camera, Create! Join us for a hands-on, week-long evening program that introduces students to the full video production process, from concept to final screening. Students will learn the fundamentals of storytelling, filming, editing, and sound design while working together to create short videos, including commercials, how-to videos, and short narrative pieces. The program emphasizes creativity, teamwork, and real-world media skills in a fun and supportive environment. The small-group environment allows the student to develop ideas, collaborate, and produce more polished, creative work. PROGRAM STRUCTURE: Day 1: Storytelling and Pre-Production Introduction to video storytelling and examples Group formation and idea selection from prompts or original concepts Scriptwriting and storyboarding Planning locations, shots, and roles Day 2: Filming Fundamentals Camera basics using phones and tablets Shot types, framing, and movement Begin filming on location around the building and grounds Instructor guidance and feedback during production Day 3: Production and Editing Optional review of footage and troubleshooting Introductory editing demo using accessible tools Introduction to basic editing concepts Cutting footage, arranging sequences, and pacing Day 4: Editing and Sound Design Continue filming and refine scenes Adding music, sound effects, and basic titles Guidance on copyright-free media resources Finalize edits and polish videos Day 5: Final Edits and Screening Group presentations and screening event Constructive feedback and discussion Celebrate student work! Maker's Workshop: Cardboard Architecture Lab - Ages 8-14

In this hands-on maker workshop, kids will act as architects and builders as they design and construct their own miniature cardboard house. Using recycled cardboard, simple building techniques, and plenty of creative materials, students will cut, attach, and decorate walls, doors, windows, and roofs to create a unique structure. We will explore design, engineering, and problem-solving, learning how artists and builders turn simple materials into imaginative spaces. In this creative maker-style workshop, kids who love cats design and create fun projects inspired by our feline friends. Our handmade items are for cats and about cats, including sewing a soft catnip toy, crafting interactive cat toys, and painting a colorful cat portrait. Kids will learn hand sewing, designing, painting, and building while exploring how artists and creators make objects that are both fun and useful. Puppet Tales & Tiny Theaters - Ages 5-9

Step into a world of imagination where stories come to life! In Puppet Tales & Tiny Theaters, children will explore their creativity by inventing their own stories, designing unique puppet characters, and bringing them to the stage. Through fun, hands-on activities, kids will craft puppets using a variety of materials, develop storytelling skills, and collaborate with others to create mini performances. The program encourages confidence, self-expression, and teamwork as young puppeteers turn their ideas into delightful shows to share with family and friends. The performance will take place on the last day of the program. Family and friends are welcome to join and celebrate!

STEM Explorers - Ages 8-14

STEM Explorers is a hands-on class where kids become engineers, inventors, and problem-solvers. Each session introduces an exciting STEM challenge inspired by real-world engineering and science. The activities will include designing and testing bridges, building towers that can withstand “earthquakes,” creating simple machines, experimenting with water filtration systems, and exploring the titration analytical technique. This program focuses on creativity, teamwork, and learning through trial and error. Students will be encouraged to think critically, test their ideas, and improve their designs just like real engineers do. Activities are designed to be engaging, beginner-friendly, and open-ended so every child can succeed at their own level. Along the way, students will build confidence in science and math skills without even realizing they are learning. No prior STEM experience is needed, just curiosity, imagination, and a willingness to try something new. Snapology Summer: Space War Robotics & Superstructures - Ages 6-12

Launch into a Summer of Innovation! Join our Snapology engineers for an action-packed week of Space War Robotics and Superstructures! The Space War Robotics program allows students to design, build, and program space-themed robots using LEGO® bricks and motorized components. Participants explore key robotics concepts, including motors, gears, and sensors, while learning how to make their robots move, interact, and perform tasks in imaginative space scenarios. Throughout the program, students test and refine their creations, solve challenges, and experiment with different designs and strategies. They develop critical thinking, problem-solving, and engineering skills while learning how robotics principles are applied in real-world technology. The Superstructures program introduces students to the exciting world of architecture and engineering through hands-on building with LEGO® bricks. In this program, participants explore how large-scale structures—such as bridges, skyscrapers, towers, and other iconic constructions—are designed and built in the real world. Students engage in guided building challenges that encourage them to plan, construct, and test their own creations. Through these activities, they learn key engineering and architectural principles, including balance, stability, structural integrity, and the importance of strong foundations. As they experiment with different designs, students develop problem-solving skills, creativity, and critical thinking while discovering how structures withstand forces and loads. Both programs emphasize collaboration and teamwork, as students often work in small groups to bring ambitious projects to life.
