Intro to Machine Sewing
Crafts
Maybe you are rusty and need a refresher, maybe you have a machine and you’ve never used it. Maybe you have ideas for things to make but you need a little help. Bring your sewing machine with you and get the support you need to feel comfortable working on your own. Learn to thread your machine and change the bobbin with confidence. Over the course of this class you will have a choice of projects where you can learn to make a drawstring bag, a zippered pouch, a market tote, and even simple clothing. Students must bring their own sewing machines, scissors, thread, seam ripper, pins and assorted fabric to practice on.

Animated Films for Adults
Film
Animated films were once considered "cartoonish", barely worthy of serious cinematic consideration. Now they vie for Best Picture Awards and touch on complicated adult themes done so artistically that they also capture a sense of childhood wonder. Join in a discussion of three major types of animation and the films representing these techniques: "Spirited Away", "Up", and "Marcel the Shell with Shoes On". Students will watch 3 films outside of class which can be rented through streaming services or can be checked out at a local library. *All proceeds benefit the Prescott Community Center.
