Line Dance
Come and learn the basics of Line Dance and some super fun dances! You don’t need any experience to join! Have two left feet? No worries! Never line danced? Not a problem! It’s just a great time with good music! We dance to a mix of music like country, pop, oldies, and R&B. We will dance in a line with other dancers, making it excellent for someone without a partner. A great fun for all ages! Please wear sneakers and bring water.** Parents/Guardians are required to stay with children ages 10 and under.**Here's what they are saying about Michelle Wright's Line Dancing class: "The instructor is really awesome! Obviously a very experienced instructor and she did everything she could to make sure we were having fun and learning the dances. She accommodated everyone and was very prepared." "Michelle is an excellent instructor and taught us for 2 solid hours taking into consideration the mixed age/ability group for music and dance choice. She has a bubbly fun personality and I had the best time! I'd go every week if it was offered. Was so much fun!"

Moth Night!
Nature & Outdoors
On a typical night in late Spring, there could be anywhere from 50 to 150 species of moths plus maybe another 50 other insects such as beetles, flies, leafhoppers, and more in Tom's yard. Tom Murray, author of "Insects of New England and New York", will set up two moth sheets lit with mercury vapor lights to observe whatever moths and other insects come to visit that night. Weather plays an important role in how many bugs show up. A warm humid calm night is best. The moth night starts when it gets dark and can end at midnight or later. Participants can park at the Groton Center and the viewing will take place in the backyard of Instructor's residence.

Spring Bird Migration
Nature & Outdoors
Spring bird migration is one of nature’s greatest annual journeys. Billions of migratory birds leave their wintering grounds and travel to their northern home for food and breeding. Some make a brief stop in New England before flying farther north and some raise their young here. Scott Wilson, an avid birder and guide, will give a presentation about these spring migrants and show us when and where you may spot them. He also offers four guided walks to observe these migrating birds as spring unfolds. *IMPORTANT: The locations for the guided walks will be announced one week before each walk matching the migration status. The currently listed locations for each walk are educated guesses but may likely change. You will be notified by our office, the instructor, and website about the location for each walk.** Saturday, Mar 23, 10:00-11:00 AM - Presentation Saturday, Apr 13, 8:00-10:00 AM - Guided walk - LOCATION: Pine Meadow Pond Conservation Area, 73 Groton-Harvard Rd, Ayer, https://maps.app.goo.gl/Fa1N4PsbLztf8wrcA Saturday, May 4, 8:00-10:00 AM - Guided walk - LOCATION: Oxbow Middlesex, 85 Walker Rd, Shirley, MA 01464, Google location: 42.560663, -71.616725 Friday, May 10, 6:30-8:30 PM - Guided walk - LOCATION: Bolton Flats Wildlife Management Area Parking, Bolton, MA 01740, Google Location: 42.4695880, -71.6551578 Saturday, May 25, 8:00-10:00 AM - Guided walk - LOCATION: Heald Street Orchard, Heald Street, Pepperell, MA 01463, Google location: 42°40'15.6"N 71°37'20.3"W Here is what they are saying about Scott's Spring Bird Migration Walks: "Excellent program; Scott is a wonderful guide - very welcoming, patient, takes the time to make sure everyone can see the birds, very knowledgeable, easy-going (doesn't try to overwhelm you with his expertise as some do). It's a pleasure to go birding with him." "What an enjoyable morning - friendly group, extremely knowledgeable leader, cooperative birds! Can't ask for more."
