Patrick Gendron, a certified Archery instructor, will teach the proper archery range procedures, safety, and how to shoot a bow and arrow through a step-by-step approach in a fun and safe environment.

Join us for five weeks this winter as we travel through the ocean of creativity using a variety of materials and subjects. Dip a stick into black walnut ink and draw what you see across the table. Paint on your charcoal drawing with oil paint, and draw on your watercolor painting with pastels. We’ll use graphite, charcoal, watercolor, pastels, oil paint, a combination of these, and more. Composition, perspective, color harmony, brush stroke, and inspiration are the stars that will guide us. This class is about experimentation! The instructor will provide the class materials. Join the experts from Rainbows End Apiary for a buzzing adventure into the world of honey bees! Discover the fascinating biology of honey bees and the art of beekeeping in this hands-on, educational experience. You’ll learn about hive structure, bee behavior, and the crucial role bees play in pollination and food production. Explore the health benefits of honey and pollen, peek inside a real hive, and try your hand with beekeeping tools. You'll also have the chance to shop a full selection of sweet treats and local products—and of course, taste test six varieties of delicious local honey and snacks made with honey as a natural sugar substitute! **Children must be accompanied by a paying adult.**

This class is designed for beginners with no prior ballet experience, introducing the student to the fundamentals of ballet technique. The class will be structured in a traditional format, beginning with barre work, followed by center work, and concluding with a stretching session. The emphasis will be on learning a ballet class structure, achieving correct body alignment, utilizing efficient body mechanics, developing good musicality, and exploring qualities and dynamics to progress toward a comprehensive understanding of ballet technique and expressiveness. Students will be guided to work safely and intelligently in pursuit of their physical potential. Students are required to bring a yoga mat (for stretching) and ballet shoes. Shoe recommendations are provided in the confirmation email.

Learn the basics of watercolor painting in this beginner class. No experience necessary. This course will focus on getting comfortable with watercolor techniques and enjoying the process of painting. The basics of color mixing, value, composition and use of materials and tools will be covered. Through guided instruction and a step by step guided demonstration process, together we’ll paint simple landscape subjects. This will allow you to learn this wonderful medium in a fun and supportive environment. A material list will be supplied prior to the start of class. Andrew DeChristopher, a pool player based in Fitchburg with over ten years of experience in pool education and competition, will lead beginner billiards/pool lessons at the Billiards Cafe in Ayer, MA. Participants will learn the fundamentals of stroke, stance, aiming, grip, bridges, and game rules, with plenty of guided practice time. Along the way, students will discover how pool is not just a skill-based game, but a fun, social activity perfect for friendly competition and connecting with others. Advance Registration is required. All materials are provided. This program takes place off site at The Billiards Cafe, 39 Main Street, #201, Ayer, MA.

Students will work on French conversational skills, grammar, usage, and mechanics, while conjugating verbs in the present tense and learning to solve translations. As much as possible, students will learn French interactively and naturally through TPR (Total Physical Response), much in the same way one learns a mother tongue. We will utilize music, international signs, body language, and games during class, as well as reading short current event articles, graphic novels, and listening to brief blog posts. Materials to Bring: a notebook and/or loose-leaf paper, writing utensils, a pocket folder, and a French-English dictionary (Katy will have extras on hand). This class is for advanced-beginning adult students who have a basic foundation and understanding of the French language.

The program will discuss ways to configure laptops, tablets, or phones to enhance readability and utilize Siri to perform tasks using voice commands, making everyday activities quicker and easier. We will allocate a significant amount of Q&A time for other technical questions, such as email, folders, videos, etc. Please bring any device you would like help with making more accessible. Grab your friends and family for a fun evening of cookie decorating! Perfect for beginners and intermediate decorators alike, this class covers the basics of royal icing, including outlining, flooding, and “wet on wet” techniques with multiple colors. Start on a practice sheet, then decorate your own Spring Flower themed cookies. All materials, cookies, and frostings are provided—just show up and enjoy the fun! Each student will leave with six beautifully decorated cookies and a recipe to try their new skills at home.
