Family Tour of the New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar Temple
History & Culture
Join us for a visit to the New England Shirdi Sai Parivaar (NESSP) temple in Groton, MA! NESSP was founded by devotees who share their love for Shri Shirdi Sai Baba and are inspired by His teachings. The guides will give an overview of the temple's construction, Sai Parivaar's philosophy, the different gods in the temple, and traditional practices. They will then lead a guided tour inside the temple. We will conclude the visit by enjoying a traditional Indian meal together at the Sai Canteen. Information about Sai Baba of Shirdi (excerpts from Wikipedia): Sai Baba of Shirdi (c. 1838–15 October 1918),[2] also known as Shirdi Sai Baba, was an Indian spiritual master considered to be a saint,[3] and revered by both Hindu and Muslim devotees during and after his lifetime. According to accounts from his life, Sai Baba preached the importance of "realization of the self" and criticized "love towards perishable things". His teachings concentrated on a moral code of love, forgiveness, helping others, charity, contentment, inner peace, and devotion to God and Guru. A delicious selection of food and drinks will be served, giving everyone a chance to savor the flavors of Indian cuisine. Activity schedule: 10:00-11:30 AM - NESSP Tour 11:30 AM-12:30 PM - Lunch in the Sai Canteen
