Memoir writing enables us to share our stories and reflect on the beauty and meaning of our lives. In this course for women aged 55 and over, we will write about some of the events, people, and transformations that have shaped our experiences. You don’t have to think of yourself as a writer to enjoy this hands-on workshop; our focus is not on literary perfection but rather on evoking memories and discovering meaning as we tell our stories and listen closely to the stories of others. Through writing prompts and informal assignments, we will access memories and details as we enjoy writing together and sharing our work. Readings will include selections from a variety of memoirs written by women. (Open to women 55+)
Required: bring a notebook/pen for in-class writing. Optional: bring laptops for sharing work you’ve written outside of class. Instructor will provide readings.
**All proceeds benefit the Prescott Community Center.**
