Traditional Rug Hooking for Beginners

Winter doldrums? Brighten things up by delving into the exciting, colorful world of traditional rug hooking. In this four-week program, you will learn the easy technique of pulling wool loops from a foundation fabric to create a beautiful hooked piece and everything you need to know regarding necessary equipment, finishing techniques, transferring patterns, and engaging in the rug hooking community.

Each student will be supplied with a kit including the pattern, hand-dyed wool, hook, and supplies needed to execute and finish a 12" x 12" hooked mat. 

Students will be provided with a loaner frame with a $65 refundable deposit. This is to be paid directly to the instructor during the first class via cash, check, or Venmo. When the frame is returned at the end of the last class your $65 deposit will be returned.

A lover of all things fiber, Donna has been passionate about the art of traditional rug hooking since first discovering it 25 years ago. She is a McGown Certified Rug Hooking Teacher and enjoys all aspects of the craft from dying wool, designing patterns, making rugs and teaching.
