Traditional Rug Hooking for Beginners

Winter doldrums? Brighten things up by delving into the exciting, colorful world of traditional rug hooking. In this four-week program, you will learn the easy technique of pulling wool loops from a foundation fabric to create a beautiful hooked piece and everything you need to know regarding necessary equipment, finishing techniques, transferring patterns, and engaging in the rug hooking community.

Each student will be supplied with a kit including the pattern, hand-dyed wool, hook, and supplies needed to execute and finish a 12" x 12" hooked mat. 

Students will be provided with a loaner frame with a $65 refundable deposit. This is to be paid directly to the instructor during the first class. When the frame is returned at the end of the last class your $65 deposit will be returned.

A lover of all things fiber, Donna has been passionate about the art of traditional rug hooking since first discovering it 25 years ago. She is a McGown Certified Rug Hooking Teacher and enjoys all aspects of the craft from dying wool, designing patterns, making rugs and teaching.
