Art Sampler Workshops
Discover, Create, and Have Fun with Art! Unleash your creativity as you explore a variety of art techniques and materials! Each session focuses on a different medium—like drawing, watercolor, pastel, or oil—giving you the chance to experiment and express yourself through unique projects. No experience needed—just bring your curiosity! All materials are provided, so come ready to learn, play, and get inspired. August 6th - Exploration of Drawing We’ll do several different drawings, using graphite, charcoal, or ink to draw what we see on the tabletop. Then we’ll experiment with drawing the light with white chalk on dark paper. Van Gogh used the twigs from a grapevine and dipped them in ink to create very expressive marks. Let’s try it! August 13th - World of Watercolor In Western art, the tradition has been to start with a fine pencil outline and fill in the shapes with watercolor. In Eastern art, the tradition has been to create each shape (each petal, each leaf) with one stroke of a bamboo brush. Let’s try both! We’ll alternate painting on our drawings and drawing on our paintings with pen and ink. August 20th - Pastel and Oil Pastel We’ll experiment with two very different types of pastel. First, we’ll use the soft chalky artist pastels to draw on colored paper. Then, on white paper, we’ll work with oil pastels and paint thinner. We’ll explore the solubility of the pastels and the resulting paint-like quality of the medium. August 27th - Water Soluble Oil Paint This paint is similar to traditional oil paints in terms of drying time and consistency. However, this specially formulated oil paint can be thinned with water, and paintbrushes can be easily cleaned with water during painting. As a result, colors tend to stay bright and clean. A specially modified linseed oil will be our medium. It’s fun to explore the possibilities of working with thick brushstrokes on top of a thin underpainting! All materials are provided.4-Workshops $140 | Material fee $20Individual Workshops $40 | Material fee $5

Beginner Yoga
Yoga
Yoga practice begins with attention to the body and breath and is intended for everyone as part of a healthy lifestyle. We will practice a gentle Hatha based yoga that uses a combination of foundational yoga poses with the longer holds of Yin yoga, all with a focus on alignment, body awareness and breath practices. The pace is slower to allow for questions, individual assists and meditation practices within each class.

Gentle Yoga for Healing: Injury Prevention & Rehabilitation
Yoga
This course is great for those who are recovering from an injury, or want to focus on injury prevention. We will focus on a combination of mobility, strength, and flexibility in the different joints in our bodies, to create more durability and resilience. This is a slow paced class, and great for those new to yoga, or those who want a gentle yet intentional class. Please bring a yoga mat to class. What participants are saying about yoga with Emma: "This is my third session with Emma and they just keep getting better. She is very flexible with the format and adjusts to meet the classes needs. I will definitely register for the next session." "Emma is a great yoga instructor. She changes up the class to fit our needs but is always pushing us to be better." "Good structure and knowledgeable instructor." "Time is good. Class size is good. Emma the instructor is wonderful." "The instructor! Emma is knowledgeable, informative, and able to accommodate different age groups by modifying exercises. I also like how Emma has structured her classes by focusing on specific areas areas each week to strengthen our back."

Yoga Fusion
Yoga
Yoga Fusion is a Hatha type of yoga with focus on alignment, balance and breathing techniques in a slower paced flow than a vinyasa class. I generally include postures with longer holds from Yin yoga which makes it a fusion of Yin and Yang disciplines. I will incorporate music and poetry to enhance our shared experience together and strive to offer many options and accommodations for every body- I do believe yoga is for everyone! Wednesday classes are in-person at Prescott and Friday classes are online. *Registration prior to class is required. No Drop-Ins.* Here is what they are saying about Jacqueline's Yoga Fusion class: "The teacher was outstanding. Also like the intimacy of the class. Plus really enjoyed that each week the routine was just a bit different." "Jackie is a fantastic teacher! She is very compassionate and thoughtful and I also like that she offers challenging poses." "Jackie is a professional with a prepared class, strong skills and compassion. She is the best!" "Jackie is a fabulous teacher, friendly, responsive, and very tuned in to the idiosyncrasies of the human body. In addition to the yoga practice, Jackie always ends the practice with a beautiful poetic meditation leading into Shavasana. A wonderful class; highly recommended." "This class was my re-introduction to Yoga after a hiatus of at least 10 years, and it was perfect. Jackie is an excellent teacher and encourages her students to go at whatever pace works for them, while also encouraging us to push ourselves within our comfort zone."
