Core Strength and Conditioning
Exercise
This class is for those who want to build strength, especially in their core, glutes, and shoulders. After age 35, we start losing muscle mass which can lead to a host of problems, but the good news is, if you are intentional with your exercise routine, you can build new muscle at any age! In this class, we will use progressive overload (repeating movements with multiple sets) to fatigue our muscles and thus build strength. All exercises are designed to be safe and effective. All abilities are welcome, no previous experience is required. Variations and modifications will always be given to work within your limits while still challenging yourself. Building a strong body helps to prevent injury, lose fat, and create a lifestyle where movement is accessible as we age. **You are required to bring a yoga mat and water.** Here is what they are saying about Emma's Core Strength & Conditioning Class: "Emma is very motivating, always positive!" "Focuses on core, but also works to strengthen the entire body, because it's all connected. I like that the class is designed to become progressively more challenging week by week and, because the majority of the class has been taking the class for several sessions, session by session. Emma always shows modifications for people of all levels. She is a very good teacher." "The exercises (challenging!); the instructor’s enthusiasm & encouragement!" "The class was challenging and fun! I feel stronger since starting. Emma is a wonderful teacher."

Creative Dance Movement for Ages 3-7
Dance, Music & Theatre
This playful hour of dance weaves together movement games, ballet and contemporary dance, and storytelling. Decent Dance believes that children have a natural understanding of physical expression: after all, that is their primary mode of communication in those early years! Tony's Creative Movement class taps into the imaginative spirit and innate desire to wiggle for children ages 3-7. By integrating both open-ended prompts and what we like to call "soft technique", this class offers just enough structure and a whole lot of autonomous empowerment for young dancers. Here's what they are saying about Tony's Creative Dance Movement Class: "Tony is great with the kids, and the vibe is both highly engaging and low pressure. The activities are fun and creative and the pacing is spot on. I also appreciate the chance for kids of many different ages and abilities to play and move with each other."

Democracy in Peril: Lessons from History
Current Events
This online course examines instances in the past in which democratic states collapse into autocracy or dictatorship. We will take a pinch of political theory and mix it with a lot of traditional history in order to learn about the factors that weakened and then overwhelmed several democratic systems. We will discuss the collapse of the Roman Republic, France's First, Second and Third Republics, Germany's Weimar Republic, the Kingdom of Italy, the empire of Japan, and some countries that have become less democratic the past two decades, such as Russia, Turkey, Venezuela, El Salvador, and Hungary. **This is a virtual course on Zoom.**
