Mental Wellness Matters: Awareness and Resources for All

Adult & Family Programs / Health & Wellness -
Prescott CC - 2025 PROGRAM CATALOG

Mental health is just as important as physical health, but it is often not discussed as openly or easily. Stigma has led many of us to keep these challenging issues in the dark, feeling embarrassed and unsure of where to turn. This program, led by two local representatives from NAMI (The National Alliance on Mental Illness) who are family members of a loved one with a mental health condition, is designed to shed light on the importance of mental health and where to turn for support for someone you care about or for yourself. In addition, two guest speakers will share their stories of recovery, a compelling and inspiring message of hope.

Through this thoughtful and informative session, you’ll learn about:

● What mental health really means - and why it matters

● Common myths and misunderstandings

● The impact of stigma and how we can break it

● A holistic look at caring for mental health

● Real-life insights from two NAMI In Our Own Voice guest speakers, invited to share their personal recovery journeys

● Lists and specific websites providing both community and NAMI mental health resources for various situations, including families with teens or adult family members, individuals seeking to maintain their wellness, veterans, those involved in the criminal justice system, finding therapists, handling crises, housing, and health insurance, among others.

This is a FREE program for all communities.

This program is designed for anyone who wants to learn more or has concerns about a family member, friend, neighbor, or colleague. No one will be asked to share family or personal experiences
