Prescott CC - 2026 PROGRAM CATALOG

Give your teen the confidence of a "maker." This week long, introductory woodworking course is going to teach the basics of tools, construction materials, fasteners, and their different applications—all through hands-on construction. By the end of the week, they’ll have five handcrafted projects to show for their hard work, including a keepsake box, a garden planter, birdhouse, step stool, and a charcuterie board. Your finished masterpieces are yours to take home at the end of the week!

Program: $225
Material fee: $100

Please bring a hammer, tape measure, nut-free snack, and full water bottle.
Please wear comfortable clothing (nothing too loose) and closed-toed shoes (no sandals). Avoid loose items for safety.

Joseph Smith

Joe Smith grew up in Townsend, Massachusetts, where he developed a passion for woodworking while working in his father’s woodshop. With over 12 years of experience in woodworking and remodeling, he has built a strong foundation in craftsmanship.

In his early 20s, Joe traveled to Durán, Ecuador, where he worked in the community of Una Sola Fuerza (“One United Force”), teaching woodworking skills to adolescents. After returning to the Northeast, he continued working in carpentry and remodeling before founding his own company, USF Woodworks—a name that pays homage to Una Sola Fuerza. Today, Joe remains dedicated to his craft, remodeling homes in MA and NH and sharing his passion for woodworking with students of all ages who are eager to learn the trade.
