Join The Colony’s founder and expert Beekeeper/Mazer, Rick Reault, for an inside look at the ancient art of mead-making. Discover how raw, pure honey straight from the hive is transformed into mead through a traditional fermentation process, followed by a guided tasting of both meads and honey wines, paired with a delicious charcuterie board.
Before the event, you’re welcome to explore the outdoor Pollinator Trail—featuring over 50 varieties of flowers, bushes, and trees—and observe the beehives, weather and bee activity permitting.
After the tour, be sure to browse the shop for a chance to take home your favorite meads, honey wines, and other unique products.

The Colony is our Pride and Joy! Built on land purchased in 2017 in Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, New England Beekeeping Supplies, Inc. moved into our self-designed, one-of-a-kind facility we call The Colony on April 1st, 2019. After running our business from our home garage for 13 years, Rick and Sue Reault opened The Colony. The Colony is home to our family of companies, New England Beekeeping Supplies, Carlisle Honey, and now Honeybound Meadery!
Our facility continues the 300-year-old tradition of Agriculture on the last parcel of land from the original Thompson Farm, started in the early 1700s. We purchased the parcel from the Richardson Family, who ran a Dairy Farm from the 1940s to the 1980s. We hope our Honeybee Farm will add many additional years to a proud legacy.
The Colony offers a unique and one-of-a-kind experience with every visit. Come see a Beekeeping Facility unlike any other Beekeeping Business in the Country.
