In this workshop, you will learn how to turn kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich compost in your backyard to benefit your gardens and landscape. It will also present other alternatives to support a good cause outside of your home without requiring you to manage the compost regularly. Composting also provides environmental and financial benefits by reducing carbon emissions and the cost to Groton taxpayers in hauling and burning food scraps.
**All proceeds benefit the Prescott Community Center.**
Barbara is a longtime Groton resident and avid home composting gardener. She enjoys seeing the benefits to her plants and shrubs, in her many garden beds, from adding the compost she makes from her kitchen food scraps. This practice has also significantly reduced the amount of "trash" she has to bring to the Groton Transfer Station saving time with less trips and money with less trash bags to buy. She appreciates doing her part to help the environment to reduce carbon emissions and Taxpayer expense in hauling and burning less solid waste.
