MG(Retired) Bruce Zukauskas will present a lecture on the Vietnam War. The lecture will review the history of the Vietnam War for a better understanding of the historical timeline and key events. He will then discuss aftermath and effects of the war on the United States and our society, the lessons learned from the war, and finally considerations for future foreign policy decisions. A Q&A session and open discussion will follow the lecture.

Major General Zukauskas is a 1973 graduate of the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. He is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and the Army War College. He also has a Master of Science degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh.
Major General Zukauskas served on Active Duty from 1973 to 1979 with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany, and with the 82nd Airborne Division at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He joined the Army Reserve in 1979, and over the next 30 years he served in positions of increasing responsibility in operational and training units located in Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, Iceland, Maine, Rhode Island, New Jersey, New York, and California. He has commanded units at the company, battalion, brigade, and division levels. He was promoted to Major General in 2005, and commanded the 91st Division (Training Support) at Fort Hunter Liggett, California. He retired in 2010 with over 37 years of service. His awards include the Army Distinguished Service Medal. In his civilian career, he was employed in the specialty metals and defense electronics industries and held executive positions as Vice President, Operations for Starmet Corporation in Concord, Massachusetts, and as a Program Director and a Product Line Director with BAE Systems, Inc. in Nashua, New Hampshire. He retired in 2014.
