Night Sky Stargazing Party

Join us for a Stargazing Party on a dark fall night! The instructor will show you the constellations, giant red stars, planets, nebula, and the Milky Way Galaxy! The instructor will bring a set of telescopes to share with attendees. You are welcome to bring your own.

Bring a jacket and warm layers as the temperature may be cooler at night.

Stargazing location will be at Cow Pond Soccer Fields in Groton, MA.

All children must be registered and accompanied by a registered adult.

John Harrington

John Harrington is a lifelong amateur astronomer. He holds a master's in astronomy and has published a book on planetary imaging and a paper on the early search for exoplanets. He is an Astronomy VIP Volunteer for the National Park Service at the Dusty Star Observatory located at Glacier National Park. He designs and presents nightly programs on astronomy and afternoon programs on solar astronomy to approximately 3,000 park visitors each summer. He also helps host monthly star parties with 500-700 attendees each summer. He is a member of the Amateur Telescope Makers of Boston and the Barnard-Seyfert Astronomical Society of Nashville, Tennessee.

John has two publications available for the Astronomy Program.
