Snapology: SUMMER STEM, LEGOS, ROBOTICS, & MORE! - Ages 6-9

Children's Programs / Summer Fun Programs -
Prescott CC - 2024 PROGRAM CATALOG

Build away with friends at Prescott! From fun, themed programs using LEGO® bricks to STEM/STEAM programs, Robotics, Movie-Making, and Drones, your children will be engaged from the minute they walk in the door. Each session will include two project activities with a 20-minute break in between.

Thursday, July 11: AttackBots
In this exciting program, students will build a variety of military-inspired robots that will respond to their programmed commands. While working with a partner to solve the various challenges, your student will be challenged to understand how to effectively utilize a sensor, how different mechanical components can alter the power and speed of their machine, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with games and challenges using the robots they build with their partner. They're going to have a BLAST!

Thursday, July 18: Amusement Park Engineering
Design your own amusement park in this super fun program! Learn how to use LEGO® bricks and other building materials to make coasters and other awesome rides. Can you design the next Disney World?

Thursday, July 25: Robot Olympics
In Snapology's Robot Olympics program, students will build and program robots to compete in sports- themed challenges! Your child will expand their engineering skills by designing and experimenting with robotic attachments and refine their computer programming abilities by creating program codes that make their bots run races, play hockey, and so much more. Students will work in groups and use the LEGO® SPIKETM Prime technology to complete these exciting challenges. By giving our students challenges through games and friendly competition, they don't realize how quickly they are learning core programming skills for a future in STEM.

Thursday, August 1: Mega Machines Robotics
In this machinery-focused robotics program, your engineer will explore the basics of robotics while building some pretty spectacular vehicles with their classmates! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges.

Thursday, August 8: Brick City & Mini-Figure Mania
Does your builder enjoy designing beautiful buildings and cities for their mini-figures? If so, this workshop is the perfect space for your young architect or city planner to sharpen their design and building skills! In this workshop, students will learn all about the importance of collaboration, careful planning, and skillful execution of their building plans. Join us as we shrink ourselves to mini-figure size and create our own mini-figure worlds.

Thursday, August 15: GameBots Robotics
In this game-focused robotics program, your engineer will explore the basics of robotics while playing some really awesome games with and against their classmates! While working with a partner to complete various challenges, your student will be taught how to effectively utilize sensors, how different mechanical components work in their robots, and how programming is a challenging but rewarding skill that they can master with just a little practice. We will support them in the development of their coding and building skills and inspire them with creative building challenges and awesome games!

Thursday, August 22: Animation Studio
Create amazing movies with stop motion animation using LEGO® bricks. Children will work in teams to produce their very own movie complete with dialogue and sound effects. Movies are uploaded to a secure site for family and friends to see how cool they are!

**Parent/Guardian is NOT required to stay for the class.
