Floral Dreams in PanPastel
Join me for a creative and fun hands-on day exploring the versatility of PanPastel. Whether utilizing them in an underpainting or as a finished pastel piece, you'll acquire the knowledge to use them to your advantage while creating your floral masterpiece. The workshop includes a one-hour demo explaining how to mix PanPastel, application, layering, and ways to create depth and atmosphere in your work. Plenty of at-your-easel instruction and uninterrupted painting time. Everyone will leave with a finished pastel painting or two.Students are required to bring materials. You will receive a list in your confirmation email. If you don't own PanPastels or applicators, no problem, Lisa will have them available to use for an additional $8.00 payable to her in class.

Bird Watching: Fall Bird Migration
Nature & Outdoors
Fall migration is an exciting time for birds. Billions of birds leave their summer breeding sites for their winter homes in search of food. August through October are peak fall migration months, with some starting as early as late June and others in December. Soaring birds that rely on thermals migrate during the day. Long-distance migratory birds migrate at night and get refueled during the day. Scott Wilson, an avid birder and guide, will offer a guided walk to observe these migrating birds as they return to their winter home. Scott will discuss the birds that winter in the local area and those that migrate through. The group will learn about birds' calls and habitats, and use binoculars to spot them. Participants should wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes for the walk. All trails are relatively flat with the exception of the Bates Land. Please bring binoculars.
