Prenatal yoga with Annie is all about doing what feels comfortable in one's body while finding strength. Each one hour practice will include a build-up to an energizing vinyasa sequence followed by a wind down to a peaceful flow. Props such as yoga blocks and a large pillow or bolster can assist in less accessible postures but are not required or used in most postures. I will be towards the end of my second trimester during our practice and will focus on keeping postures pregnancy safe and core stabilizing. We will avoid back lying, crunching core, and high intensity movements. Please do not be afraid to modify your practice to ensure your own comfort in class. I am looking forward to building a prenatal yoga mini-community!
Please bring to class a yoga mat, a large pillow/bolster, and two yoga blocks.
Annie is a Groton mom, former scientist, and beginner organic farmer. She is a 200-hr certified yoga instructor who has been teaching vinyasa yoga since 2017. Her experience ranges from hot power yoga in a studio, chair-based yoga & meditation in a conference room, and music-based yoga in a gym. In 2022 she taught her first Parent & Me yoga class with her then 1-year-old and taught with her 3 year old last summer at Prescott. Annie believes that yoga is a mind-body experience that benefits every stage of pregnancy and parenthood, so she is looking forward to sharing the prenatal practice with local moms.
