Bonjour Les Amis! Cours Avancé
Students who attend this class should have a solid foundation in the French language and be able to converse in French. Students will hone French conversational skills, delving into advanced grammar, usage, and mechanics while solving translations. The class will mainly be taught in French, and we will strive to maintain French dialogue, while learning through music, international signs, body language.Materials to bring: Please bring to class a notebook and/or loose-leaf paper, writing utensils, a pocket folder, and a small French/English dictionary would be helpful (Katy will have extras on hand).This class is for advanced adult students. 2D Felting for Kids: Beach Crab - Ages 8-14
Summer Fun Programs
In this hands-on workshop, children will delve into the vibrant world of needle felting by “painting with wool.” Using bright wool fibers and specialized felting needles, students will discover how to layer and blend colors to craft a wavy shoreline with a crawling crab. This calming and creative class is ideal for beginners and provides a perfect introduction to fiber arts. All materials are provided. Workshop: $30 Material fee: $10

2D Needle Felting for Kids: Sunset Sailing Scene - Ages 8-14

Adult, Child & Infant CPR with AED & First Aid

This intensive three-hour course covers adult/child CPR and AED, adult/child/infant choking, and infant CPR. Following the course, you will be comfortable assessing a victim, checking for breathing, performing rescue breaths and chest compressions, and activating the emergency response system. You will also learn how to help someone who is choking, respond in other emergency situations, and use an AED. An American Heart Association course completion card good for two years will be emailed to participants following the course. **Optional: bring a yoga mat or towel for comfort during the hands on portion.** Upon completion of the course, you will receive a certification e-card within 2 weeks of your class date. To claim your card, you can either: Login to your American Heart Association account at heart.org/cpr/mycards. Check your email! It will be emailed to you directly from the American Heart Association (eCards@heart.org) with the subject line "Claim your AHA eCard". Alcohol Ink Painting: Beginners - Ages 12-18
Summer Fun Programs
In this workshop, Dana Haigh will introduce the Alcohol Inks medium to create paintings of free flow of expressions. Alcohol inks are fast-drying and highly pigmented. They flow freely over any non-porous surface and have a mind on their own, allowing for a liberating approach to art and unexpected, spontaneous results. If you are open to just having fun and “going with the flow”, this is the medium for you to explore. Finish April Vacation with Springtime Creativity & Fun! Join us for an afternoon of exploring adorable and inventive Springtime arts and crafts. We’ll have multiple stations set up where kids can dive into projects using paint, yarn, felt, beads, and more. Whether they want to create a quick masterpiece or spend time perfecting a few different projects, there’s plenty of room to experiment! To wrap up the session, weather permitting, we’ll head outside for some fresh air and fun with reusable 'knit' water balloons—soft, absorbent yarn balls that provide all the splash without the latex mess! Alternatively, kids can join an instructor-led dance break featuring popular songs from artists like Taylor Swift. Class $45 | Material fee $7

Beginner Ballet for Strength, Flexibility, Posture, & Grace

This class is designed for beginners with no prior ballet experience, introducing the student to the fundamentals of ballet technique. The class will be structured in a traditional format, beginning with barre work, followed by center work, and concluding with a stretching session. The emphasis will be on learning a ballet class structure, achieving correct body alignment, utilizing efficient body mechanics, developing good musicality, and exploring qualities and dynamics to progress toward a comprehensive understanding of ballet technique and expressiveness. Students will be guided to work safely and intelligently in pursuit of their physical potential. Students are required to bring a yoga mat (for stretching) and ballet shoes. Shoe recommendations are provided in the confirmation email.

In the session we will be sweating and smiling through the classics and chartbusters of Bollywood movie songs in several languages. This cardio session is a fusion of various dance styles including classical Indian dances such as Bharatanatyam and Kathak, as well as elements of folk dances like Bhangra/Garba, jazz, hip-hop, and modern dance. It has become a popular form of exercise and recreation for people of all ages and backgrounds to learn and enjoy. Students will learn French conversational skills, grammar, usage, and mechanics, while learning to solve translations and honing their pronunciation and dictionary skills. As much as possible, students will be learning French interactively and naturally, through TPR (Total Physical Response), much in the same way one learns a maternal language. We will be using music, international signs, body language, and games during class, as well as reading short current event articles, graphic novels, and/or listening to short blogs. Students will learn basic greeting vocabulary, such as common expressions and commands, calendar items, weather, numbers, and action verbs. They will learn basic prepositions, and how to give and follow directions. Students will discuss hobbies, professions, likes and dislikes, as well as how to conjugate present verb tenses. Materials to bring: Please bring to class a notebook and/or loose-leaf paper, writing utensils, a pocket folder, and a small French/English dictionary would be helpful (Katy will have extras on hand).
