Kids will love using electric ice cream makers to churn fresh vanilla, chocolate, and black raspberry flavors using premium cream from the local favorite, Johnson’s Restaurant & Dairy Bar. Once the churning is done, the fun continues at our DIY Sundae Bar, where everyone can build their own masterpiece with a variety of delicious toppings!
Laura Santiano has been making ice cream at her father's restaurant, Johnson's Restaurant and Dairy Bar, Groton, MA, since she was 14 years old. She will share the "secrets" of how Johnson's makes their yummy ice cream, fun historical facts, and sample their ice cream! Laura will also demonstrate how to make the cream from scratch so you can do it from home.
Please bring a reusable ice cream bowl/dish and utensil to enjoy this amazing ice cream while supporting the environment. We will help clean up afterward. Lastly, don't forget a food container with lid to bring home any extras.
Johnson's Restaurant and Dairy Bar has been owned by my family for over 30 years, I make over 40 flavors of homemade ice cream. I started making ice cream at Johnson's at the age of 14 summer of 1998.
